The Fishidex
The Fishidex was created to catalogue the various fish species I’ve caught in freshwater and saltwater environments around the United States. A goal of mine is to catch all of the major gamefish species as designated by the IGFA (International Game Fish Association).
Fish that have been caught are categorized by their respective, commonly-known groups such as:
- Croakers
- Seabass
- Caranjids – Jacks
- Groupers – Atlantic
- Snapper – Atlantic
- Tunas – Atlantic
- Mackerel – Western Atlantic and Large
- Marlin
- Salmon
- Trevallies
Fish that have been caught include individuals from the Caranjids, Groupers, Snapper – Atlantic, and Trevally groups. This list will be updated periodically.

Blacktail Snapper - Lutjanus fulvus
Common Snook - Centropomus undecimalis
Stocky Hawkfish - Cirrhitus pinnulatus
Southern Flounder - Paralichthys lethostigma
Peacock Grouper - Cephalopholis argus
Bluefin Trevally - Caranx melampygus
Crevalle Jack - Caranx hippos
